Wampfler equips Europe’s most modern truck factory
Modular concept for the suspension and power supply
Provision of all media supply for the assembly line for MAN Nutzfahrzeuge in the Polish city of Niepołomice / Delivery and coordination from one provider / Use of the newly-developed W5-traxX media supply system
Weil am Rhein, December, 2006. Wampfler AG, internationally one of the leading manufacturers of data and energy supply systems for dynamic applications, is outfitting the most modern truck factory in Europe. The order for MAN Nutzfahrzeuge in the Polish town of Niepołomice near Krakow includes the provision of compressed air and power services for the assembly line. In addition to providing all system components, Wampfler is in charge of the entire coordination effort for the project.
“In close cooperation with MAN Nutzfahrzeuge, we have developed a modular concept for the suspension and power supply for all assembly tools in each section of the assembly line. The power feed will provide continuous power for the entire assembly area with regular outputs for tools” explains the project manager, Daniel Schlösser.
Wampfler will use its newly-developed W5-traxX at MAN Nutzfahrzeuge in Niepołomice. This system integrates the compressed air line into an aluminum profile for supplying dynamic applications. Compressed air, power and data are supplied to tools through energy chains. An optional adaptable, contact-free linear encoder system to determine the exact position of the trolleys is also available, which also allows automated data logging in the assembly area.
Beginning in mid-2007, around 650 employees at the new factory are expected to produce 15,000 vehicles each year from the MAN TGA Worldwide and MAN TGA series, primarily for Eastern Europe and countries of the CIS. According to the company’s own information, MAN Nutzfahrzeuge will invest a total of over € 90 million in Niepołomice.
